If you are reading this, you may be new to hooping and wondering what exactly is this 'hoop jam'? A hoop jam is a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly indoor or outdoor social event. Where hula hoopers of all skill levels come together to play, share tricks, practice, and dance. You may also see other skill toys and flow artists juggling, using fans, staff, contact balls, and poi.
In this relaxed setting, you will have a chance to get acquainted with the hoop, find the 'right' hula hoop for you, and ask some questions to members. Hoop jams are an excellent opportunity for people to get started with the fitness activity and to try it out in an informal, supportive, and fun atmosphere.
Does it matter if I've never hula-hooped before?
If you have never played with a hula hoop before, do not worry. There are monthly free hula hoop classes at the beginning of the jams, and there will always be a member to help get you started.
What if I don't own a hula-hoop?
At our events, we always have plenty of hula hoops for people to use. Christel also brings her artisanal-made hoops wrapped in vibrant, beautiful African fabrics, if you would like a hula hoop of your own.
When is the next hoop jam?
Our events are always on our Hoop Fitness Geneve Facebook page and in the members-only group. Click here for the upcoming calendar of events.
Is this only for women or children?
Not at all, the joy of hooping is for everyone. Come out and join us.
Does it cost money?
Our club often hosts free hoop jams for our local community, and all our hoop jams are 100% free for members! There is a participation fee for non-members during specified events. This fee helps the club to continue to organizing its year-round activities, and to produce, maintain, or repair the many hula hoops at your disposal, during our jams, workshops, and classes.
What's the age range?
All ages are welcome to join us! Please keep in mind that the younger the children are, the shorter their attention span may be and that it is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to keep them entertained and out of harm's way.
